ahhh, vacation....

Not only has it been decided, but it's been booked! We are going to Aruba! We did not want to go somewhere that would be in the path of Hurricane Season by going to Jamaica in September, and Aruba is no where near the path. It took us a while to figure it out, but with the suggestions from family and friends, Aruba is the place to go! Every time I see pictures, I feel as though September is so far away. But in a way, I'm glad it seems so far because not only is it something to look forward to, but I love the summer. Summer in New England doesn't seem to last very long, so I'll take what I can get, and extend my summer by going to a warm, tropical, Caribbean island that is somewhat considered to be Fall. Either way, the skies in Aruba are always sunny, the water is always crystal clear and all shades of turquoise blue, the beverages are always frosty with the right amount of alcohol and best yet, the temperature is always in the 80's and I might add, dry!! You can't go wrong with any one of these descriptions and when you're taking as early a flight as we are, we'll make up the lost hours of sleep on the plane ride down and we'll be bright eyed bushy tailed for the white sands and warm waters that Aruba has to offer! Aruba, HERE WE COME!!

Jamaican me crazy!

I think I forgot how much time it takes to plan a trip or vacation. When you're going to a place you've never been before, it's hard to figure out which places look good as opposed to how they actually are. Pictures are not always worth a thousand words, especially if you have never been there and know nothing about. My boyfriend and I are trying to plan a vacation to Jamaica and have narrowed the resorts down to about 3. When you're spending a lot of money, you want to make sure that it's going to be well spent. Just because you're going to an island with white sand, nice clear blue water and all the drinks you want, doesn't mean that it's going to be a nice place. Although from the pictures I have seen, I'd like to go tomorrow! There are so many people who have just been to Jamaica who have written both good an bad reviews - mostly good though. I think it's going to be one of those situations where we're just going to have take our chances. I also think with the 2 places we think it'll come down to, you can't go wrong.

Anyone been to Jamaica out there? Any suggestions??

Down to just 3

I still think that no matter what the polls suggest that Jordin Sparks will take the win on American Idol. She's got the look (although she may have gained a little weight during this competition), she's got stage presence, and she definitely has the voice. I think Blake is great and I'm glad that he's the last guy remaining. I think he needs to figure out when his beat-boxing is appropriate and when it isn't. He's great at it and I think it works most of the time, I just think he's doing it a little too much. Melinda was not the most impressive on Tuesday night, in fact I thought her second performance sounded very much like a Broadway act. She was good, I just think it could have been a little better. I didn't get that "wow" factor that I normally get when she sings. I'm sort of glad that LaKisha was sent home last night. I thought when the group was narrowed down to 24 that she was incredible and could possibly be the last one standing. Now? Not so much. I just didn't think she had what it takes. Regardless, even though she was sent home, shes still going places (other than home!) The Final Four all deserved to be there. I'm guessing that it's be Jordin and Blake in the final 2.
